The Commodity Data page provides in-depth analysis and detailed information about individual commodities. This powerful research tool combines price tracking, technical analysis, market positioning data, related investments, and news to give you a complete understanding of any commodity market.

Overview​

The Commodity Data page offers an in-depth look at specific commodities, helping you:

  • Track price movements across multiple timeframes
  • Analyze technical patterns using advanced charting tools
  • Understand market positioning through COT (Commitment of Traders) data
  • Discover related investments including ETFs and stocks
  • Stay informed with commodity-specific news
  • Research fundamental supply and demand factors

Key Components​

Commodity Overview​

The header section provides essential information about the commodity:

  • Commodity Name and Symbol: Full name and ticker symbol (e.g., "Copper (hgusd)")
  • Type Classification: Commodity type indicator
  • ETF/Fund Status: Indicators showing if the commodity is available as an ETF or fund
  • Description: Detailed description of the commodity's characteristics and industrial uses
    • Example for Copper: "Copper futures represent the primary benchmark for global copper prices. As a crucial industrial metal, copper is essential for construction, electronics, and power generation. Often called 'Dr. Copper' for its ability to indicate global economic health due to its widespread industrial use."

Price Information​

The price section displays key pricing data:

  • Current Price: Large, prominent display of the current price (e.g., $4.81)
  • Price Change: Absolute and percentage change (e.g., +$0.25 (5.41%))
  • Time Period: Indicator of the measurement period (e.g., "past week")
  • Add to Watchlist: Button to add the commodity to personal watchlists
  • Advanced View: Button to access expanded technical analysis tools

Price Chart​

The interactive price chart allows you to visualize commodity performance:

  • Multiple Timeframes: Toggle between 1D, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y, 5Y, and ALL views
  • Chart Types: Line chart with area fill showing price movement over time
  • Volume Indicator: Volume bars displayed at the bottom of the chart
  • Price Scale: Dynamic price scale on the right side
  • Time Scale: Date/time indicators along the bottom
  • Download Option: Button to download chart data

Trading Stats​

The trading stats panel provides key metrics:

  • Day High: Highest price reached during the current session (e.g., $4.83)

Technical Analysis Tools​

    • Short Position percentage (e.g., "44.2% this month")

  • Net Position History:

    • Historical chart of net position changes
